Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) was founded by the SPIC science foundation in 1989. It is a research and education institute in Chennai. It offers undergraduate and post graduate programmes in physics, Mathematics, and computer science. In 2006 it was recognized as a deemed university. Earlier it was under MPBOU and Madras university. After CMI became a deemed university, it gives its own degree.
